  Portrait of a gentleman

  Watercolor and gouache on porcelain

  19th century

  1 1/4 x 1 1/2 in., framed to 2 1/2 x 2 3/4 in. 

  Near-contemporary brass frame. Affixed label to verso reads: "8159 / an." 

   

  A portrait of a handsome, possibly French, gentleman wearing a dark blue coat with golden embroidered details and a white cravat, both exceedingly high up the man's face.
