- Lot Description
21. spear point, semi-wasp-waisted blade. Sand cast brass hilt with fish scale-patterned grip. Sheet brass half-basket guard with rolled edge reinforcement. Overall 26" 1/4
Unmarked, the blade was possibly manufactured by the Selma Arsenal. The coarse sand cast surface was designed to create a better grip for the slippery conditions faced by seamen.
