A vignette bust view, General Granger can be seen in a standard major general's frock coat and shoulder straps; the hallmark double rows of buttons clearly visible.
General Gordon Granger (1821-1876) is primarily remembered for proclaiming General Order No. 3 in Galveston, Texas, on June 19th, 1865, formally announcing the enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation.
