Signed in type by Lieutenant Amos Pennebaker and Captain T.A. Byrnes, this broadside features a large illustration of a federal cavalryman piercing a Confederate cavalryman with his sword. Bolt text above and below illustration announce, "The Last and Only Chance as / Cavalry!"
Timothy A. Byrnes served as Captain of Company I, 13th Pennsylvania Cavalry, which was recruited principally from Philadelphia. The regiment was present at the Battle of Winchester, Culpepper Court House, Mine Run, the Wilderness, and Hatcher's Run, among other engagements throughout the war.
