SIGNED photograph of Cal Calloway. With identification plaque. 7 x 9 in., framed and matted to 14 x 18 in. Autograph to recto bottom right.
Cab Calloway (1907-1994) rose to prominence in Harlem, regularly playing at the well-known Cotton Club in Manhattan during the height of the Swing Movement of the 1930s and 1940s. With a resume that included being an actor, American jazz singer, drummer, and bandleader, it is no surprise that Calloway found himself an acclaimed performer. His career lasted for more than 65 years, with a unique mix of jazz and vaudeville maintaining his relevancy.
