32" blade. 39.25" overall with scabbard and hilt. Curved single edged blade with broad fuller and flat back in Model 1840 pattern brass hilt with knuckle bow, peened tang, and leather wrapped grip retained with wire. Comes with a single seam iron scabbard, brazed along the edge with two hanging loops.Right ricasso of the sword is marked U.S./ADK/1863 with no extant maker mark to left. Blade shows signs of light polishing at some point.
Good. Blade primarily cleaned to bright with patched mottling along the edge and overall. Scabbard is a dark brown patina with rough surface overall. Brass hilt shows an amber patina. Leather wrap cracked and abraded with stains overall, and verdigris below wire wrap.
