Montblanc Patron of Art Queen Elizabeth I Limited Edition 4810 fountain pen. Gold plating and resin, with synthetic green garnet and 18-karat gold nib. 2010. Number 2,654/4,810. Approx. L. 5 3/4 in.
A superb fountain pen honoring Elizabeth I, Queen of England and Ireland. Crafted in tribute to the monarch for whom the Elizabethan era is named, the pen features finely executed gold detailing throughout its black resin body, including a Tudor rose set above the clip. Encircling the lower portion of the cap is the Latin motto “VIDEO ET TACEO”—“I see and keep silent”—one of Elizabeth’s most closely associated maxims. The immaculate nib is engraved with the royal crown, together with the dates 1558 and 1603, commemorating the years of her reign. The pen is presented in a glossy wooden case, befitting its regal inspiration.
