The Rolex Submariner in 18K gold was introduced in the late 1960s and was the first solid gold diving watch. While just as waterproof as the steel model, the massive amount of gold established this watch as a timepiece for the man who "made it." Forty years later, the combination of luxury and durability is still sought after. With modern touches, such as the cerachrom bezel insert, hour markers lumed in brilliant blue chromalight and a beefy Oyster bracelet with the glidelock system, the king of Submariners is as relevant as ever and a lot more competent.
