An intricate ink drawing on paper featuring a grotesque, highly detailed caricature of a bespectacled man in profile with wild, expressive hair. The work showcases signature dense cross-hatching and bold, fluid linework against a neutral cream background. Signed "R. Crumb" in the lower right. Framed.
Robert Crumb is a seminal American cartoonist and illustrator, widely regarded as the foundational figure of the underground comix movement. Emerging in the 1960s, his work is characterized by its subversive themes and a distinctive, labor-intensive drawing style that often satirizes American culture. Throughout his career, Crumb has maintained a fiercely independent path, significantly influencing the evolution of both modern illustration and the graphic novel.
