Salvo (Italian, 1947–2015)
Oil on canvas depicting a luminous valley landscape composed of stylized trees, geometric village structures, rolling hills, and distant mountain forms rendered in vivid chromatic harmonies. The composition balances simplified architectural elements with richly saturated color fields, creating a poetic and contemplative vision of the countryside. Titled La Vallee and bearing an artist inscription on the reverse.
Salvo was a prominent Italian painter associated with the post-conceptual and neo-modern movements of the late twentieth century. Renowned for his highly recognizable landscapes, he developed a distinctive visual language characterized by simplified forms, vibrant color palettes, and dreamlike architectural settings.
