Signed and dated stained glass panel titled “Industry of Their Hands,” created in 1954 by Brazilian Franciscan artist Fray Arnaldo Marcolino Maas.
The composition presents a dynamic multi-figure scene centered around a craftsman at work, surrounded by symbolic imagery including tools, architectural motifs, and figures representing labor and skill. Rich cobalt blues frame jewel-toned glass in reds, greens, and amber hues, creating a vivid mid-century ecclesiastical composition.
Spanish inscriptions incorporated into the design reference the dignity of labor and craftsmanship, translating approximately to:
“These place their hope in the work of their hands; each one is skilled in his craft.”
The panel remains mounted within an iron architectural frame, consistent with church or institutional stained glass installations. While smaller than full architectural windows, the panel retains strong visual presence and is well suited for private display.
Dimensions:
Approx. 26.5 in. H × 17 in. W
Iron frame.
Overall good condition consistent with age and prior architectural display. Glass appears intact with strong color and visual presentation. Leading appears stable overall; minor age-related wear may be present. Iron frame shows typical surface wear and patina. Buyers should review photographs closely as minor chips, hairlines, or prior stabilization may be present.
