The Gray's January Fine Antiques, Art and Decorations Auction features porcelain and art accepted and displayed in Paris. At the Paris Exhibition of 1878, two of a set of eight Minton Cabinet Plates attributed to Christopher Dresser and formerly belonging to Newton A. Rockefeller were exhibited in Paris. Continuing a Parisian theme is the large landscape by Marcel Adolph Bain entitled Le Petit Pont that earned a place at the Society des Artistes’ 1914 Salon. Nine American Coin Silver Monogrammed Spoons, Late 18th/ Early 19th Century,
Together with a silver-plated candle snuffer and wick trimmer.
Includes five bright cut spoons bearing the initials RMS and an I. RICE mark for Southern silversmith Joseph Rice active in Baltimore, Savannah and Augusta 1784-1807.
American fiddle back spoons all bear the S monogram with maker's marks of J. Kirk (2), J. Webb and G.A.
Approx. 6 troy oz.
Dims of candle snuffer. H:1.5 x W:7 x D:2 in.Condition
