Travels in upper and lower Egypt: in company with several divisions of the French Army, during the campaigns of General Bonaparte in that country and published under his immediate patronage, by Vivant Denon; embellished with numerous engravings; translated by Arthur Aikin.
3 volumes accompanied by a volume of plates: illustrations (some folded), folded maps.
Bound in ¾ leather, marbled boards, speckled edges. Volume of plates with variant binding.
Volume of plates is 11 x 9 in.
H: 8 1/2 W: 5 1/2 in.
With, “Sold in Dutch auction, 1802,” in ink on t.p. of Volume I; with “Kings Inn Library Dublin” stamped on t,p. Verso of each volume.Condition
Good, edges and corners rubbed and bumped, some slight foxing throughout; hinges repaired; covers of Volume I detached.
