Mark Kostabi is an American painter, sculptor and composer. He studied at California State University, Fullerton. In 1982 he moved to New York and became a prominent figure in the East Village art scene. He is known for his paintings of faceless figures which have visual stylistic roots in the work of de Chirico and Léger. In 1988 he founded Kostabi World where he employed numerous assistants. His work is widely exhibited throughout the world.
