Modern sterling silver bowl, design #1291Bby Alev Siesbye. Born in Turkey, Alev Siesby studied at Istanbul Art Academy and became a very well known ceramicist. In 1963 she moved to Copenhagen and worked for Royal Copenhagen Porcelain, in the 1980's Georg Jensen translated some of her designs into silver. Siesbye's designs are very Mediterranean in form and typically have a very small and largely invisible foot, giving the piece an illusion of hovering.
Measures 3 3/8" in height and 8" in diameter (8.5cm, 20.5cm).
Post 1944 Georg Jensen hallmark and date code for 1987.
