Very rare feeding golden plover in fall plumage, Elmer Crowell, East Harwich, Massachusetts, circa 1905. This is one of probably less than five carved wingtips golden plover by Crowell that are known. Exhibits Crowell's desirable carved primaries, split tail, and in an unique and rare feeding position. Glass eyes. 12" long.
Excellent original paint has protected by a light coat of wax; several shot scars; crack in bill; crack at one eye.
