- Lot Description
10x13x24". Printed in Dutchess County, NY. Hide covered, wooden steamer trunk lined w/important Van Buren/Johnson broadside. Due to the ephemeral nature of broadsides, the historical relevance of the subject matter paled in comparison to its immediate usefulness. To that end, this wonderful accidental artifact was created. Trunk lid bears "MARTIN VAN BUREN" wrapping toward interior "RICHARD JOHNSON" over central eagle & shield flanked by electors. As lid curves, "FOR GOVERNOR/ WILLIAM L. MARCY" & "FOR LT. GOVERNOR/JOHN TRACY" Interior well continues "REPUBLICAN NOMINATIONS" w/ description of Democratic Republican Convention. Shows obvious wear, most notably split dome, distressed leather trim, waterstains. Just VG. Opened for display, would create a standout focal piece.

We ship in the order paid—first in, first out. Thus, we begin charging orders as instructed by customers immediately following the close of the auction and continue to fill orders as they are paid.

Doing so after the close of the auction may result in a package not being delivered to the correct address. It is the bidder's responsibility to make sure their mailing and shipping address is updated. Without exception, all special requests for “Rush Delivery” will incur a charge of $50.00 plus any additional shipping fee associated with the expedited shipment. Overall, our goal is to ship all orders within 15 business days of payment. Allow four weeks from the day you send payment before calling to check on the status of your order.

Accepted payment methods are Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, check, money order and we will also accept payment by wire transfer. PayPal is not an accepted method of payment. A 3% fee will be added to all credit card payments. Please be advised if your invoice is under $5,000, your credit card on file will be charged on the 15th day following the close of the auction. If you wish to pay via check, money order or a wire payment must be received prior to that date.
