- Lot Description
Oil on canvas showing a portrait study of Elizabeth Newby of Stratton, 2nd wife of Robert Marsham, a naturalist who is considered to be the founding father of phenology. Unsigned. Image size: 30 x 24 inches.
Condition
Please note: The painting appears to be in good condition. Unfortunately, the original period frame was badly affected by woodworm and was poorly stored which dried the wood to a very brittle state. We have all the pieces but the frame requires extensive restoration.
