- Lot Description
A nicely made French dagger with a horn grip that tapers toward the blade, and which has been carved with lobed decoration at the pommel. The guard consists of two curved quillons which create an 'S' shape. The forte of the blade is decorated with chased chevrons.
France, c. 18th or 19th Century.
L: 9 1/8 in., (23 cm.)
Condition
Blade is pitted towards the tip. Carved horn handle with some small cracks. Quillons show minor signs of oxidation. All parts tight.
