Porcelain figure modeled as a seated Harlequin musician playing a mandolin, shown perched on a stylized pedestal base with one leg raised, the pose emphasizing relaxed elegance and theatrical grace. The figure wears a white Harlequin costume accented with vivid polychrome enamels in orange, blue, green, yellow, and black, including applied button details and a jester’s cap with curling lappets.
The modeling reflects Rococo-inspired movement with modernist clarity and surface restraint, characteristic of German porcelain sculpture of the late 1920s and early 1930s. The underside bears the underglaze Katzhüteb Manufactory mark "Hertwig & Co. Katzhütte," along with factory signs and numbers.
H: 7 5/8 in., (19.4 cm.)
Excellent, with no apparent chips or cracks.
