- Lot Description
Mixed media on paper, the composition presents a monumental abstracted figural form rendered in a stylized, modernist idiom, combining painterly passages with linear drawing and crayon or colored pencil elements. The central figure is articulated through bold red and black forms suggestive of a seated mechanical or totemic presence, contrasted against a pale ground animated with yellow tonal accents. Supplementary smaller figures at lower right introduce a narrative or symbolic counterpoint, while a stylized sun or emblem appears in the upper left, reinforcing a surreal and allegorical character. The handling reflects mid-century American modernist experimentation with mixed materials and layered surfaces. Signed lower left. Mounted and framed.
