A nude boy with a large floppy hat, holding a fish on a line, standing barefoot on a rocky outcrop with a basket behind him. The style, subject, and craftsmanship suggest this is a late 19th to early 20th century Italian work, likely made for the Grand Tour market, which favored genre scenes of local life, especially of youthful figures in rustic or romanticized attire. These types of bronzes were popular in salons and drawing rooms as playful and exotic representations of Mediterranean life.H With Plinth: 16 1/2 in., (42 cm.)Very good, the lamp works well.
