- Lot Description
A POLISH STAR OF GENERAL BUÅAK-BAÅACHOWICZ, CROSS OF VALOUR, CIRCA 1919–1920.
A large gilt and silvered star-shaped badge, with a central white-enamel cross, the medallion depicting a silver skull-and-crossbones within a black wreath, encircled by the Polish motto “ZA NASZÄ„ I WASZÄ„ WOLNOŚĆ†(“For Our Freedom and Yoursâ€). The cross is superimposed on a radiating gilt starburst with applied crossed sword and laurel wreath motifs between the arms. Reverse with flat backplate and screwback fitting, stamped R 95.
