- Lot Description
A Prussian German WW1 era Fire Brigade Officer's spiked pickelhaube from Friedrichsfeld in the Rhine Province. The helmet retains its original brass-mounted chinstrap, leather interior, and the green Rhine Province badge inscribed with Friedrichsfeld.
Germany, early 20th century.
H: 11 5/8 in., (29.5 cm.)
Condition
Very good for age. Some light craquelure and wrinkling to the leather surface. The top spike is slightly loose but still well attached. Some minor oxidation to brass components. Internal leather is dry and cracked, with some loss.
