- Lot Description
A French bronze of a hound on the hunt sculpted by the Marseillais artist Thomas François Cartier (1879-1943). Cartier was an exhibitor at the Salons des Paris from at least 1904, producing a wide variety of sculpture in the animalier tradition. The piece is signed to the base by the artist and stamped with the foundry mark 'A. GRANOUX ET CIE', a firm in Marseille.L: 23 1/2 in., (59.5 cm.)Very good with a fine patina.
