Of elongated baluster form, executed in ruby red cased glass with applied green trailing, the surface enriched with free-flowing whiplash vegetal motifs characteristic of the Jugendstil period, the decoration created through hand-applied trails and casing rather than engraving or acid etching. The vase is free-blown, with subtle asymmetries and irregular internal casing thickness consistent with turn-of-the-century Central European workshop production. The base with a polished rim and unmarked underside, showing no factory signature, in keeping with Bohemian Art Nouveau glass of the period.
H: 16 1/2 in., (41.9 cm.)
Very good condition overall with one possible small trip on the neck which may be a manufacturing defect. Some light scratches in surfaces.
