- Lot Description
Comprising a crescent-shaped steel axe blade of classic tabarzin form, mounted to a long tubular steel haft terminating in a rounded button tip. The broad, inward-curving blade is finely etched with symmetrical foliate and scrolling motifs arranged around a central panel, executed in a restrained decorative manner characteristic of Indo-Persian arms of the 19th century. The reverse of the blade displays corresponding ornament, with engraved vegetal arabesques and stylized leaf forms. The axe head is fitted with a hammer poll opposite the blade and a long, tapering spike that projects upward, forming a multi-purpose polearm that combines cutting, thrusting, and bludgeoning functions. The central socket and ferrule are engraved with geometric and foliate designs, complementing the decorative motifs on the blade.

Condition
Overall good condition with surface oxidation and pitting to the steel consistent with age and use. Engraved decoration remains visible, though softened in areas.
