The entire exterior is clad in small rectangular and shaped panels of bone, intricately incised and blackened with floral motifs and geometric scrollwork. The lid’s top features a large central cartouche bordered with floral bands. Sides show repeating floral bursts, likely done with lac-filled sgraffito.

Condition
Good with several visible age cracks to the ivory veneer and minor surface stains. Slight discoloration due to oxidation or handling. Some losses to inking and fine line engraving. Structure: sound, lid opens well and hinges appear original and functional.
