- Lot Description
Of eight-pointed silver construction with finely faceted and granular radiating arms. The circular center in gold and enamels, with a red translucent enamel ground bearing the white-enameled patriarchal cross between the gilt initials "M T" for Maria Theresa, above the Hungarian crown resting upon a green enameled mount. The medallion is enclosed within a green enameled oak wreath with gilt acorns. Reverse fitted with a vertical pin-back fastening, hallmarked on the pin with "C.F. ROTHE WIEN" and the Viennese Diana-head control mark, indicating silver manufacture.
Austro-Hungarian Empire 1848-1916.
