Description: This phenomenal horseshoe trophy is truly a perfect representation of a moment in history. The sterling silver tray contains the horseshoe that was worn by the horse Pensive when he won the 70th Kentucky Derby on May 6th and the Preakness Stakes on 13th. These two wins put Pensive just one win short of the Triple Crown, until he unfortunately lost the Belmont to the horse Bounding Home by less than half a length. Pensive was sired by Hyperion and out of the dam, Penicuik II. His jockey for both races was Conn McCreary, and his trainer was the legendary Ben A. Jones.
