- Approx. Dimensions or Size and weight: 10.5x6 11/16thx6 11/16th Inches 1.92lbs or 870g
- Condition: A small aperture to the base suggests the former presence of an applied element, possibly a larger jewel, medallion, or dedicatory plaque now absent.
- Provenance: Property of a distinguished Episcopal clergyman, to whom the chalice was gifted approximately 30 years ago by a parishioner. The donor reportedly acquired the piece at auction in New York in the 1970s. This is a substantial and important liturgical object, combining high gold content, fine hand craftsmanship, and jeweled ornamentation. Pieces of this scale and material are rarely encountered on the market. This 859 gram piece is extraordinary. Objects of this scale, material, and craftsmanship particularly in solid gold with original jeweled embellishment—are seldom encountered on the open market.
