- Description: This is a lovely Folk depiction of a Texas country yard sale scene oil on canvas signed Alice Hines 1991. This was a commissioned painting for around an estimated 500 to 700 dollars. In the foreground, there is the yard sale with a mix of wares for sale such as quilts and furniture with a range of Caucasian and African American people helping to set up and shopping. The yard sale is taking place directly in front of a colonial style house and shed. In the middleground, there is another colonial house with a large pumpkin farm and pastures for sheep and cows. The background contains green hills and very distant mountains that blend with the pale blue sky. Alice Hines was an artist born in Longview, Texas and then lived in Wills Point, Texas, where she enjoyed her folk art and quilting.
