A Pair of Continental Gilt Bronze Mounted Porcelain Potpourris
19th century
of bulbous lidded form, with gilt metal pierced and foliate decorated handles, the lid and body with polychrome decoration of figures in a harbor village in the manner of Meissen, mounted as lamps.
Height overall 15 3/4 inches.

Possibly Samson or other Continental porcelain maker; no Meissen mark. Marked with a number and a gilt star under the base mount. In need of re-wiring. One with repaired breaks to its lid. Both with light surface scratches and dust. Mounts with even, dull patina; some areas of oxidation. Decoration and gilt bright. Shades with rips, fraying and stains.
