AMERICAN, PROBABLY NEW ENGLAND, PAINT-DECORATED ROCKING CHAIR, the shaped tablet crest over a six-spindle back above a shaped plank seat flanked by scrolled armrests. Possibly original black-painted surface with gilt-stenciled decorations. Old, possibly period, inscription "D & NA Co." to underside of seat. Second quarter 19th century. 40" HOA, 18 1/2" x 19" seat.
