AMERICAN TRAMP ART CARVED CHILD'S DRESSER, oak and white pine, rectangular top set with a swinging mirror and supports, above two over two lip-molded drawers, raised on an applied base with bold cut-out arches. Sides of case with applied chip-carved strips and inset panels, edges of top and front edges of case also with applied chip carving, decorated with applied chip-carved ornaments including hearts, diamonds, and leaves. Retains original mirror plate and an outstanding dry, bubbled-varnish surface. Probably New York State or New England. Circa 1880-1910. 22 1/2" HOA, case 14" H, 10 3/4" x 7". Provenance: Property of a Virginia collector.
Excellent original condition with only a crack to lower frame of mirror.
