BALTIMORE, MARYLAND DECORATED STONEWARE PITCHER, salt-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, ovoid body with incised shoulder ring, heavy shoulder bead, cylindrical neck with incised ring, beaded and ringed rim, grooved strap handle, and pronounced foot. Brushed cobalt dropped flower and feathered leaf decoration around shoulder, feathers flanking the dotted spout and a leaf on each side of neck, additional cobalt at handle terminals. Circa 1860-1870. 9 3/4" H, 5" D rim. Provenance: The collection of Ronnie and Neal Kite of Esmont, VA.
Undamaged except for a shallow chip and two flakes to top of rim.
