CHIPPENDALE MAHOGANY TILT-TOP TEA TABLE CANDLESTAND, circular one-board tilting top with molded edge above a ring- and baluster-turned standard raised on a tripodal base with cabriole legs ending in slightly peaked and padded slipper feet. Old surface with rich, dark color. Descended in the Currier family of Newburyport, MA. Fourth quarter 18th century. 29 1/4" H, 23 1/4" D (top). Provenance: From a New England private collection.
