ELIZABETH FLICCON NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER, silk on linen, having three alphabet rows, short verse, dated lower inscription, and numerous examples of floral imagery, all flanked by a flower and vine border. Composition includes parents' names and siblings' initials. Housed under glass in a 19th-century figured maple frame. Circa 1809. 11 3/8" x 9 3/8" sight, 15 3/4" x 13 3/4" OA.
Minor overall fading and some toning to ground. Small loss and repair to date (probably picked out). Frame liner likely later. Not examined out of frame.
