the body formed as a low drum, with entwined snake-terminate handles to either side, molded with two posy holders and four pen holders to the sides; the inkwells of balloon form, tapering to a cylindrical foot, the stand and individual inkwells all richly-painted with elaborate floral specimens reserved on a gold ground. The pattern often referred to as the Marquis of Anglesea. Unmarked. Circa 1820. 4" HOA, 10" DOA. The wells, 2 1/2" H.

Good condition, the drum-form top with a firing crack glued and professionally repainted, one handle broken and restored and two inkwells all professionally repainted, and one inkwell with a small chip to foot.
