formed as a Classical-style architectural folly, with two columns upholding a demi-roof, topped by two orbs on either side of a recumbent lion, the back wall pierced by the hole for the watch, the columns resting on the "floor" of the temple, both roof and floor with braided, beaded edge; the roof, Corinthian columns, backwall and floor all spattered with marbleized pink, purple, green, blue and orange splotches of multi-color luster; the lion, orbs, upper section and stepped bases and outer edges all copper luster alone. Circa 1810-1820. 8 1/2" H.

Very good condition, both orbs replaced, and the flange of the watch holder chipped, rebuilt and repainted, all professionally repainted.
