the exterior painted in bright enamels with a peafowl perched on brown branches surrounded by green- and yellow-sponged foliage, with additional foliage clusters to the sides, the interior painted with blue and ocher lines, above foliate cluster of branches and leaves. Unmarked. Circa 1800-1820. 3 1/2" H, 7 5/8" D.

Good to moderate condition, with three hairlines off of the rim toward the foot, minor firing flaws and tears all original and glazed over. Some crazing to glaze, but the enamels are bright and the imagery undisturbed.
