of press-molded octagonal form, the rim molded with a foliate swag with an anthemic device within the swag, the face painted with a large, stylized peafowl in ocher, blue and brown, surrounded by curling brown branches and green-sponged foliage. The underside with brown stylized S, probably a tally mark, and impressed 3, probably for size. Circa 1790-1800. 10 1/16" D.

Very good condition, with one rim chip professionally restored, another tiny chip at 4 o'clock, minor rubbing to edge and pooling of glaze on rim.
