the ovoid teapot with ribbed strap handle and curving spout, the lightly-domed cover with tall, globular knop; painted to both sides with a peafowl on brown branches among berried bushes, the handle and spout with stylized foliate patterns in cobalt blue, the cover painted with a band of stylized flowers with brown leaves to knop, with colored bands near edges. Unmarked. Circa 1800-1820, and later. 6 1/2" HOA.

Good to moderate condition, section of spout professionally rebuilt and painted; minor glaze abrasions, the neck with restored chips and over-painted hairlines, now visible. Flange to cover rebuilt and cover edge repainted.
