MID-ATLANTIC DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, "3" gallon capacity mark, cylindrical form with squared rim and arched handles. Bold brushed cobalt flower and feathered leaves decoration on both sides, additional heavy cobalt at handle terminals. Possibly the Parr family, Richmond, VA. Circa 1860-1890. 13 1/2" H, 8 1/4" D rim. Provenance: Property from the estate of John R. Salak, Amissville, VA.
Undamaged except for a few light chips to rim.
