MID-ATLANTIC DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, two-gallon capacity, semi-ovoid form with incised shoulder and neck rings, arched handles, plain flat-top rim, and brown slip-glazed interior. Slip-trailed and brushed cobalt interwoven foliate decoration on front, and slip-trailed "2.G." capacity designation on reverse. Probably New Jersey. Circa 1830-1840. 12" H, 8 3/4" D rim.
Excellent condition, rim with two very minor flakes, underside of base with a very light spider hairline that is not visible on interior.
