EBERLY & CO / STRASBURG, VA", SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA EARTHENWARE / REDWARE SCENIC PEDESTAL, unglazed, large hollow conical form with upper platform, molded with castle scenes above rock-like outcroppings. Stamped on top of platform. Attributed to Levi Begerly working at the pottery of Jacob Eberly (1830-1908) and Daniel Letcher Eberly (1859-1919), Strasburg, VA. Circa 1892. 19 3/4" H, 18" DOA base.

Catalogue Note: The "Original Lawn Vase" produced at the Eberly pottery was exhibited at the 1892/93 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. The firm manufactured a very limited number of these three-part lawn vases for sale, one of which is in the collection of the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, VA.
