VIRGINIA WALNUT TILT-TOP CANDLESTAND, in the Queen Anne style, the circular revolving top over a bird cage with baluster-turned supports above a swollen baluster-turned pedestal, raised on a tripodal base featuring cabriole legs with peaked center ridge and raised elements to knees, ending in pointed slipper feet with thin pads. Old refinished surface with mellow color. Late 18th century. 30" H, 22" diameter (top). Provenance: Property of a Winchester, VA lady.
Bird cage restored, retaining two likely original baluster supports. Crack to pedestal and small repair to one leg. Top with cracks and repairs. Replaced metal plate to underside of pedestal base.
