WEST VIRGINIA STENCILED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, cylindrical form with slight shoulder and collared rounded rim, Albany-slip glazed interior. Stenciled cobalt "PALATINE POTTERY CO" arched above a pear and "PALATINE / W.VA", brushed cobalt stripe around collar and base. Circa 1875. 10 1/4" H, 5 1/2" D rim.
