WEST VIRGINIA STENCILED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, stenciled "6" gallon capacity, cylindrical form with a slight shoulder, arched handles, flat-top rounded rim, and Albany-slip glazed interior. Stenciled cobalt "THOMAS D. HARDEN / PALATINE. W. VA." arched around a spread-wing shield-breast eagle, capacity mark flanked by leaves. Circa 1870-1880. 16 7/8" H, 10 1/8" D rim.
