WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, brushed "4" gallon capacity, cylindrical form with slight shoulder, medial incised rings, beaded collar, rounded rim, and arched handles with medial ridge, brown-slip glazed interior. Brushed cobalt horizontal fern and floral decoration above a stripe, two opposing ferns, and two flowers flanking the capacity designation. Circa 1860-1870. 14" H, 8 1/2" D rim.
